The Zentaur-Quartett came together in 2017 for a performance in the Munich Tonkünstlerverband’s Studio für Neue Musik series. In 2018, the Zentaur Quartet took part in the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Conversatory Competition in Berlin together with Julia Moorman as interpreters of the work “At Midnight” by Arsen Babajanyan, who was awarded 3rd prize in the composition category. In the same year, the ensemble was selected for a scholarship from the City of Munich.
The Zentaur-Quartett regularly performs at concerts in Munich, for example at Antennenglühn – Nacht der Neuen Musik in Munich’s Gasteig, as well as at Einstein Kultur and Schwere Reiter. From 2020 to 2022, the ensemble recorded 13 works from the aDevantgarde composers association. The double CD was released in June 2023 as part of the aDevantgarde Festival, where the quartet was also heard together with the Minguet Quartet.
Violinist Annette Fritz left the ensemble in 2022, her successor is Ronja Sophie Putz.
The quartet performs various programs at home and abroad.
